John E. Muir
John concentrates his practice in civil litigation, municipal law and eminent domain. In addition, he is a leader in the Berks County Fire Community and has represented over twenty-five fire companies in various legal matters. For the past twenty-two years, John has been a trial attorney handling various matters before the courts in Berks County and other courts throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. He has served as lead trial counsel in more than one hundred jury trials and arbitration hearings. He is a trained mediator/arbitrator who serves on the Berks County ADR Committee.
John began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney with the Berks County District Attorney's Office, where he served for nearly five years. He is the current Vice Chairman of the YMCA of Reading and Chairman of the Sinking Spring Family YMCA. John founded and has chaired for the past nine years, the Annual YMCA St. Patty's Marsh Madness Polar Bear event which has raised over $275,000 for youth scholarships.
