Kourtney E. Bernecker concentrates her practice in business law and transactions, real estate law and education/municipal law. Kourtney assists clients in the creation, management, merger and acquisition of all forms of business entities along with dealing with issues that arise in the operation of a business. She has assisted clients in the acquisition, sale and leasing of commercial real estate. She also has experience representing regional and national banks and borrowers in commercial loan transactions. Kourtney has written about and presented several seminars regarding legal issues that arise with short-term rentals.

A native of the Berks-Lehigh area, Kourtney is heavily involved in the community and is a graduate of the Leadership Berks program. She currently serves on the development committee for Safe Berks and volunteers with the Cystic Fibrosis Fund of Berks County in planning its annual gala. She is the Lead Advisor for the Delta Phi Epsilon International Sorority at Kutztown University.

Kourtney is a graduate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she received a Certificate in Health Law and concentrated her studies in corporate law and business transactions. During her time there, Kourtney served as Executive Editor of the Pittsburgh Journal of Environmental and Public Health Law (PJEPHL) and as the President of the Student Bar Association. She was also the 2017 recipient of the W. Edward Sell Award for Excellence in Corporate Law, the Award for Excellence in Health Law, the Pro Bono Service Award and the Student Leader Award.

Kourtney is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, American Bar Association Business Law Section, and serves on the board of the Young Lawyer Section of the Berks County Bar Association.
