Dan concentrates his practice in municipal, corporate, and land use law, dedicating his practice to delivering effective legal strategies and solutions by working closely with his clients as an integral part of their team. With over 30 years of legal experience, Dan serves as Solicitor and special counsel for more than twenty-five municipal entities, including counties, townships, boroughs, municipal authorities, civil service commissions, and zoning hearing boards across Berks, Lancaster, Lehigh, and Montgomery Counties.
Dan’s municipal practice has an emphasis on land use and development matters, with a focus on issues related to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (“MPC”), handling complex subdivision and zoning matters. In addition to his focus on municipal and land use law, Dan represents several businesses and corporations on a variety of legal issues, including providing strategic counsel on corporate issues, ensuring that businesses navigate the complexities of corporate law effectively. Whether it involves contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, or other corporate legal challenges, Dan’s goal remains to collaborate closely with his clients, serving as a valuable member of their team. Beyond his legal endeavors, Dan has been the Managing Director of Kozloff Stoudt for over 14 years, contributing to the firm’s growth and success.
Dan regularly participates in lectures and on committee planning boards relating to municipal and land use issues, including for the Center for Excellence in Local Government at Albright and appellate cases in Pennsylvania.
In addition to his legal practice, Dan has been the Managing Director of Kozloff Stoudt for more than 14 years. He has over thirty (30) years legal experience, starting his career at Kozloff Stoudt after serving four (4) years of active military duty in the United States Navy Judge Advocate Generals Corps, while stationed at Pearl Harbor Hawaii.
Dan is married and has two (2) children. His wife, Stephanie, is a practicing Veterinarian. His daughter, Erin, is studying at Colgate University in upstate New York and his son, Eric, a Senior at Wilson High School will attend the University of Pittsburgh in the Fall. Dan’s commitment to his community extends beyond his professional role. He is an active member on several non-profit boards and committees including the Reading Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors, Berks Nature Board of Directors, South Mountain YMCA Board of Directors, Center for Local Government Community Advisory Board, Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce, Family Business Alliance Advisory Board, Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce Peer Group Leader, Pennsylvania Economy League, Berks Committee, and he served as a volunteer at the Hope Rescue Mission in the City of Reading.
Dan is a member of the Berk’s County, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations, and is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, the District Court of Hawaii and the United States Court of Military Appeals.
