Karen M. Farris joined Kozloff Stoudt in 2017, bringing with her an impressive 37 years of experience in the legal field. Prior to becoming a legal assistant, Karen dedicated 30 years to a successful career as a court reporter. Her extensive background has honed her expertise in civil litigation, employment law, and municipal law, making her an invaluable asset to the Kozloff Stoudt team.
Karen’s educational background includes business courses from County College of Morris (CCM) in New Jersey, with further studies at The Hill Institute for Court Reporting and American Business Academy in New Jersey, as well as Middlesex Community College in Massachusetts. She has continually expanded her knowledge and skills through various administrative and technical training programs. Additionally, Karen is affiliated with prestigious professional organizations such as Office Dynamics International and the American Society of Administrative Professionals (ASAP).
Her journey to becoming a legal assistant was motivated by a relocation from New England and a desire to remain in the legal industry after deciding to leave the court reporting field. This transition allowed Karen to leverage her extensive experience and deep understanding of legal processes in a new and impactful way.
Karen finds the most rewarding aspect of her work to be the interaction with her co-workers and clients, as she thrives on the dynamic and collaborative environment at Kozloff Stoudt. A fun fact about Karen is that in her senior year of high school, she qualified to compete in a state championship for the fastest typist, showcasing her exceptional skills from an early age.
